Snippets Vault is a local vault your coding agent fills and reuses. It saves proven handlers, commands, and configs once — then rebuilds them byte-for-byte on every future task.
Your team's conventions stop drifting: error formats, naming rules, deploy steps — stored as reusable standards your agent follows automatically. Everything stays on your disk.
Node.js 22+ · Windows, macOS, Linux · 14-day free trial
Your agent gets tools to save a snippet, browse what exists, and paste a saved snippet into a file — optionally swapping small pieces, like turning a GET handler into a POST. Pasting writes the stored bytes directly, so nothing drifts the way retyped code does.
Everything the agent saves is plain files in a folder on your disk. Browse and edit them in a local web page, or with a text editor. Each snippet counts how often it was pasted and how many tokens that saved.
The installer wires it into whatever it finds: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Antigravity, Oh My Pi, ZCode, Hermes and more. Restart the agent — that's the whole setup.
Based on recorded A/B runs on free-tier models (2026-08); your results depend on task and model. No telemetry leaves your machine — these were measured locally.
The actual application, with a small demo vault — folders on the left, snippets in the middle, the stored code on the right. The top bar shows your savings counter and which of your agents are connected.
One command. It checks for Node.js (installing it if missing), installs Snippets Vault, connects your agents, and starts the trial.
curl -fsSL https://snippets-vault.pages.dev/install.sh | bashpowershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -c "irm https://snippets-vault.pages.dev/install.ps1 | iex"Want pictures for every step? See the step-by-step install walkthrough — six small steps with screenshots, about two minutes.
Prefer doing it by hand? Download the zip above, then:
unzip ~/Downloads/snippet-vault.zip -d ~/snippet-vaultcd ~/snippet-vaultnpm install --omit=devnode scripts/setup.jsnode scripts/license.mjs trial --server https://snippet-vault-licenses.snippet-vault.workers.dev --email you@x.comThe last three commands run from inside the extracted folder
(~/snippet-vault above) — they read package.json and
scripts/ relative to where you are. Adjust the
unzip/cd paths if you extracted the zip somewhere else.
Your agent then sees these tools (and knows when to use them on its own):
list_folders · list_files · get_snippet · search_snippets · vault_statsvault_write (create/save/update/delete folders & snippets, register_skill, record_reuse) · paste_snippetsuggest_snippets · run_saved · code_outline · repo_outline · save_task · list_skills · load_skillTo open the local web page: npm run web, then
localhost:8787.
Check which version is on this machine and update it without losing your snippets or license.
node ~/snippet-vault/scripts/upgrade.mjs --check
node ~/snippet-vault/scripts/upgrade.mjs
paste into a terminal, inside any folder — the second command performs the update
